Run for your health and your life.
Thinking of taking up running as an exercise? Excellent. But before you take off, let us, well, walk you through a couple of pointers. Set a schedule. X amount of time, X times a week. Invest in a good pair of running shoes. Not walking or tennis shoes, but running shoes. Expect your legs to get sore in the beginning but it will subside quickly. You will be slightly out of breath when you start. If you can talk when you are running without gasping for breath, you are doing a good pace. Side stitches are caused by lack of oxygen in your GI muscles. Try exhaling long or hard or bending to get rid of them. All set? On your marks?
